How do I avoid pending transactions using debit/credit cards at stores?

Do I run it as a credit or run as debit, so that the purchase will automatically post to my account because some cases the purchases are pending for a few days. Any way to completely avoid pending transactions with debit/credit purchases? Any info will be helpful. I know pending means that the purchase hasn't completely processed, but the balance will still be the same. Thanks.|||All banks operate this way (no way around it).

Solutions to this:

1. Keep a check register.

That way you can keep track of every transaction.

You can google excell free check register worksheet.

2. Keep at least 2 weeks pay in your checking account at all times as a minimum.

That keeps troubles at "bay".

3. Use a credit card and check the statement once a month.

Of course, pay the bill in full each month so that you don't pay interest and develop top notch, amazing credit scores....|||That's between the merchant and your bank, you're a stinkin' pawn, and they decide when to take the money out, but usually it's within 24 hours. A different bank may do a better job, I would also recommend a CREDIT UNION, they are speedy
