How old do I have to be to get my own debit or credit card?

How old do I have to be to get my own debit or credit card? I'm 17 and turn 18 next summer break, so if it's 18 I can wait that long. I live in the US, Indiana, so what is the state age limit to get one from your bank? And also, how old do you have to be to use a debit or credit card online?|||You can have a debit card as young as 8 if your parents approved it


Credit Card is 21 yrs of age Federal Law went into effect Feb 2010|||You can get a cash card at 16 I think, which is just a card to take out money from a Young Savers Account - a debit/credit card is different though and you need to be 18 debit/21 credit but im not sure.|||s k is wrong, the other one is right
